I would also definitely recommend a 4/4 Sport as an ideal choice. The usual
reasons people prefer a V8 are for the noise and the torque. On the
downside you have extraordinarily heavy fuel consumption (low 20's mpg) by
modern standards, and pretty ponderous handling compared to the 4/4.

I don't mind changing gear, after more than 30 years of driving I like to
think I'm quite good at it, so the torque argument cuts no ice with me, I
have a 5-speed torque multiplier inches from my left hand. I'm also not the
richest of chaps, so I'm quite happy to sacrifice a bit of V8 woofle for
nearly half the fuel consumption. And lastly I get my kicks on twisty B
roads, sitting on motorways for hours isn't my bag, so the nimble 4/4
handling is ideal for me.

As they say, however, YMMV.
