You can usually repair a radiator,unless its leaking everywhere,even as a short 
term measure;get it on the bench,and clean it up a bit;if u dont want to mess 
with solder, even jb weld or similar will do................................ my 
mark2 Jag rad ran on a plastic padding repair for over a year with  no 
hassle......................
