Subject: RE: M_Boats: M15 and Centerboard Question

My M15 has never tasted salt water so I haven't had those worries.
Centerboard pin maintenance is a good topic for Jerry; or, come to think of
it, it has probably already been covered in the archives. I am guessing
that the pin can be removed by knocking off the gelcoat covering the end of
the pin but I have never had to do it. I would think this would be more of
a fix on failure item as long as the board still pivots and the pendant is
still attached.

The centerboard trunk on my M15 sits right on top of a trailer roller which
is good in that you won't accidentally drop the centerboard while on the
road but it makes it more difficult to maintain. I think I managed to
inspect mine on trailer once by putting floor jacks under the back of the
trailer and pushing the boat back just far enough to clear the roller. Be
very careful!
