Bill.... Keep in mind that NADA and other bluebooks for boats require Dealers to report selling prices of boats on a quarterly basis.
Those numbers in those books are 15 years old..! 1. Most Montgomerys get sold via private party. No reporting to NADA. 2. Our boats are sold factory direct. No reporting to NADA. 3. We have sold several newer model used Montgomerys and in the $15,000 to $18,000 range and NO reporting to NADA. (or anyone else) Once in a great while, someone gets some health issues or money problems and they end up selling their boats at a lesser price. Those deals are rare. Most people are prepared to wait for a buyer who knows what he wants and isn't going to grind away at the asking price. Used prices for older Montys have doubled the last 5 years. Asking people to lower the price only hurts everyone who has a Montgomery for sale. The value is there; the quality construction is there and nothing outsails a Montgomery.
