I bought my M17 because it looked cute, it was easy to set up, I could
singlehand it, and it was priced right. Oh yea, there was some negotiating (the
new "n" word). Seems like I traded some old guns, a Pioneer Hi-FI, an Empire
turntable, and a couple thousand cash. I later traded the Montgomery for a
Taiwan-built floating teak plantation (my bad). That piece of junk couldn't get
out of it's own way. Within a year, I owned and seriously raced a J22. I've
share-owned and raced a Colgate, a Kirby, and a Farr. My grandson (8 y.o.) owns
a races a Sunfish.
I know what you mean, well-made, but sails poorly.
