Im with Erik here. I'm sure the Pope doesnt "dash little children against rocks".
We all have different tastes and I am glad of it. I have enjoyed Horror films of all types since i was 4 years old, and watched more than most, from classics to cannibal Holocaust. Strangely or not I've also been a strict vegetarian for 21 years. Never beaten anyone up. Anyone who knows me, knows I wouldnt hurt a fly. BUT I do admit, i enjoy films that are hard to watch, not sure why.... maybe ask a GOYA fan what they see in his works. Death and Violence has been a mainstay of all artforms for a long time, and I don't think its going anywhere..
