One of the only advantages to being as old as Phil or I is that we might have seen movies in REAL Cinerama!
I clearly remember the "joins" between the three screens when I saw these movies as a kid, and finding them somewhat distracting. Similarly, the Caesar's Palace Casino in the 1970s had one of the very first Imax theaters. The image filled the entire roof, which was like half of the inside of a rubber ball sliced open! That was super impressive, and in recent years I have gone to other Imax theaters, and they were a pale comparison. And don't get me started on the size of candy bars when I was a kid! They were 10 cents, and weighed a ton. Now they cost 50 cents or a dollar and weigh next-to-nothing.
