Hi Randy-
  I don't want this to get lost in the midst of the other topic taking off very
quickly. I must have missed your earlier post. What basic characteristics
does photogelatin printing have as opposed to inkjet? To the naked eye, is
it kind of like this comparison:
      photogelatin = blu-ray
      inkjet = dvd
  In other words, clearer, sharper image on the card? More saturation? Or
does it indeed take magnification to tell. And if so, what are we looking for?

  50x microscope --> photogelatin printing technique = authentic vintage
lobby card.

  50x microscope --> inkjet or laser printing technique = fake vintage
lobby card.

  Is this not the case?

  If so, then authenticating lobbies is easy; heck, you can send them to me and
I'll do it for you. Photogelatin printing is very distinctive on the
microscopic level, as I've mentioned previously.

  If not, please enlighten us and explain why not. For example, I would be
surprised to hear that someone has present day access to this obsolete printing
technology.

  Randy
