An interesting question. If the business transaction involves items that I own? ... In the past, it was mostly a personal matter, it would depend on dollar amount. In this day and economy ... business is business; if you call me a jack-leg low-rent geechie AND pay me extra samolians; call me any name you prefer, but keep forkin' the money into my hand.
If the business transaction involves items that I do not solely own and/or consignments? ... If someone consigns items to you, that person is depending on you to get the utmost amount of $$, (a fiduciary responsibility), which may require some infrequent unpleasantness. Emotional investment and business are inherently bad for financial health. (Ask anyone who actively trades equities). If your business model is financially stable in today's markets, it may well be suited to block potential buttheads. However, most buttheads that I have known ... impulsive, somewhat reckless, emotional, bipolar, 'trigger-happy' ... are just the type of person that every auctioneer / niche market / overall economy needs ... a catalyst. This rationale may not be stress free. There is stress in almost every activity / situation; one person's seething stress level may be another person's light comedy. On the flip side ... If I was buying and you crossed me ... no dice ever again. If you were on fire, I would not piss on you to extinguish the flames. Re: feedback ... Please continue to shop and spend $$$ whether you leave feedback or not. Feedback doesn't put food on the table, money does. ad ________________________________ From: David Kusumoto <davidmkusum...@hotmail.com> To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2012 3:20 PM Subject: [MOPO] Question for Sellers I don't expectanyone to respond publicly, but here's a question for sellers: Would you do business with ANY CUSTOMER - who constantly criticizes you? I wouldn't. Every seller has the "right to refuse business" with anyone he/she doesn't like. If I was a seller, if you constantly berated me in public OR in private - (and it doesn't matter which) - I would block you. Wouldn't you do the same? Who wants the aggravation selling to a person who doesn't like you anyway? -d. ________________________________ Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2012 06:52:40 +0100 From: runbuffy...@hotmail.com Subject: Re: eBay's changes to Watched Items To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU just wondering , being blocked for disagreeing with a seller on a topic on a forum , how would that be considered ? over the years quite a bit of collectors have found themselves blocked in Bruce his auctions for that reason , filip ________________________________ Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2012 07:43:13 +1000 From: johnr...@moviemem.com Subject: Re: [MOPO] eBay's changes to Watched Items To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU Being blocked for not leaving feedback is ridiculous. Many people don't leave feedback these days mostly because they don't see it as a necessary part of the transaction or because they just forget. After all, when you buy something from Heritage or from Bruce you don't need to leave feedback (although I'm sure they both receive many positive emails!).
