dmb and gav, I lay out a case and support it both empirically and rationally. gav counters by spouting dogma. He concludes that since the facts don't match the dogma the facts can't be. To gav I ask if emotion is not the cutting edge of experience, what is? Sensation certainly precedes emotion but is very fragmented. I suspect the emotion is the summation of sensation.

The case I laid out for him yesterday was basically the same case I made in my midterm paper. He thinks it's just romanticism and wishful thinking but my professor heaped praise upon me, said it was "very convincing" and gave me an A+. The difference could hardly be more stark. If I had any humility at all, I'd split the difference between these two impressions and take the truth to be somewhere in the middle. But I don't see it that way. One of the two is in a much better position to make the call and it ain't him. So I just think Krimel is clueless, doesn't get it at all, and has no capacity to judge the quality of an argument.
