Mary,

I teach test taking as a separate genre so to speak. I have no idea if I do
it correctly. I won't have my classroom scores until late July, but I know
at 5th grade my site scored 90% for 2007-8 school year. This year every
time I focus on a strategy I am also going to introduce what it would like
on state mandated testing or how you would use it on the test. I tell my
kids they have to write their thoughts next to the answers of the question,
and it helped on their SS tests in my class...hopefully it helped on the
state assessment. The toolkit does have a section on test taking...I wonder
if your media specialist could purchase it or your principal with
professional development money.
