Makes me so sad that now children have to fit into our schools as they are currently structured instead of restructuring schools to fit children's needs. I still remember learning from the Brits and the Australians about classrooms where children just entered classrooms on their birthdays whatever time of year that happened to be. Imagine that classrooms were so flexible that a child entering in December or april would be no problem. Teacher would just teach them from where they were developmentally. But there was also little pressure then from assessments and standards. I miss the old days!!! Sorry, this is just a down memory lane moment. Sally
