My child is in kindergarten and just turned four and it was a really hard adjustment for her. The first two months it was really hard. All of a sudden though she loves it. She is doing really well in every area except fine motor. I was held back for the same fine motor stuff. It was a disaster for me when I was in 5th grade to be a year older than everyone else. I didn't want her to go through what I did. I still am not sure I made the right choice. She is with gigantic 6 year olds. Most private schools require you be a year older and developmentally it makes sense unless you are the oldest. We will have to wait and see.
