Donna, We are also creating our own CFAs (common formative assessments) and then using the data. Between 3 teachers we divide up the work, but it's still test, test, test. When the students realize all they have to do is blow the test, wow, imagine what would happen.
Someone shared a site called: mastery connect (masteryconnect.com or .net). Teachers all over the country are sharing CFAs for the new standards. In some ways I think the new standards are easier, but having the technology to pull of the testing is going to require some big bucks (and my state is already in financial distress). Anyway, I've gone to the site and pulled off some tests to use with my kids. It's great if all band together to get the job done!
