Just my two cents that I don't see this correlation in my class this year. The boy with perfect handwriting has a tough time with other students and one of my sloppiest writers is a lovely, sweet kid. But there may sometimes be a correlation. Interesting to think about. I have noticed a connection with boys between sloppy handwriting -- I mean REALLY bad -- and their inability to work well with other students. They may be socially awkward or immature for their age. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any research I can read on this connection? Is there anything that can be done to help students with both issues once they're adolescents? Thanks!
