Around 10:30 this morning I glanced out at my feeders and observed a flurry
of activity at my feeders, particularly at the niger feeder. There were
10-12 Pine Siskins vying for a spot on the feeder which could not hold that
many, hence the fighting for a spot to land. My impression was that they had
recently molted because the color of the feathers had a very clean
appearance, especially the yellow areas.
