I don't need to view source, my guess is the information is exchanged
over http and could be packet sniffed, but I don't even need to do that,
when you hit a site, it pulls up information about the site from
Netcraft among others (it displays a trust rank) and you can click on
whatever a few options to display even more information.

Now even if I did view the source it would not tell me what Netcraft is
retaining, so being the paranoid person I am, I have to assume they are
keeping anything and everything sent to them.

Studies recently proved that you could profile users based on weblogs
from websites by search for logs on google, so imagine how much is
available to Netcraft via a toolbar such as this without even getting to
the gritty details of specifics.
