No problem on MinGW64 with ./configure --disable-static --enable-cxx On the other hand, I don't think it uses PIC. Then again, I'm not actually sure Cygwin64 is supposed to either.
I will now try a shared library on my machine with Cygwin64. It may be about 6 hours before I have the results. Bill.
