But I'm working under Linux, and even without a

=============
Then another issues me encountered earlier - discontinuing fixing bugs
for obsoleting graphic chips by vendors (free drivers are usually bad
[or not properly tested for double buffering, XRendering,..]). Me had
a lot of GUI troubles (freezes, black screens, distorted picture,
crashes,..) until upgraded from NV GT9500 (like GT220) to NV GT240
GDDR5 (Fermini+) and currently ATI 6850 (Bart+) & their LATEST vendor
drivers. Once again - bugs for obsoleting chips may be evil (and even
disasterous ) & will never be fixed. New drivers usually activate
hardware features & fix bugs for recent chips.
