it depends on the hardware. If the supply voltage is not stable, e. g. modulated by a opto coupler, that does not work. And a 8 MHz resonator +int. caps does cost only about 50 cent. But the main reason why i didn't used FLL algorithm was that with 20 Bytes left it's not possible. With the newer msps you can use a hardware FLL so you only need the 32768 Hz quartz. Regards, Rolf
