Hi folks,
You got my curiosity up about using the DCO enough that I freed the Rosc pin. The recommend 1/6W metal film 50ppm resistor looked a bit bulky, but I found and 0805 25ppm part. It's .1% (unneeded) and 74 cents :(. The cheaper 1% 0603 parts are all 100ppm.
I assume that this resistor gets connected to GND.

Then, I could not find the relevant doc for the FLL algorithm. I'm using an MSP430F1611.
Could someone point me to the correct app. note or such.

Thanks,
   Garst

Hi,

You can eliminate DCO jitter using FLL algorithm and a
32Khz crystal! I use this and my rs232 work at 115200
bps.

it depends on the hardware. If the supply voltage is not stable,
e. g. modulated by a opto coupler, that does not work.
And a 8 MHz resonator +int. caps does cost only about 50 cent.

But the main reason why i didn't used FLL algorithm was that with
20 Bytes left it's not possible.

With the newer msps you can use a hardware FLL so you only need the
32768 Hz quartz.

Rolf
