Why?
As long as BASIC doesn't disable the interrupts for long periods of time, a
screensplit is perfectly possible.
Ofcourse you should be careful which commands you use. If the screen split
switches between SCREEN5 and SCREEN7 for example, you'd better not use COPY
commands.
But if you only switch pages (reg 2) and modify the scroll register (reg
23), BASIC will work just fine.
