] Hi!
]
] You may know that I use a Gouda SCSI interface (BIOS 1.59.64) with a 1 GB HP
] SCSI harddisk. I experienced something strange: when I copy some files from a
] diskette, like this: COPY G:*.* .
] I sometimes get an error with the first file, like this (assume that on drive
] G: (diskette) are the files A.DAT, B.DAT and C.DAT, etc.):
] D:\DATA\>COPY G:*.* .
] A.DAT --- Invalid File Name
] B.DAT
] C.DAT
] D:\DATA\>
]
] When I retry to copy A.DAT, it does NOT give an error! So, why does DOS2 give
] this error sometimes? It is always at the first file that is being copied...
] Never on later files. Can anyone explain? (BUG in dos2?)
Can't explain this. Whihch version of DOS2 are you using? Do you have an
official DOS2 cartridge with an official kernel or do you have a 'hacked'
version, in the Gouda SCSI interface?

I have been using DOS2 for years now. First the official 2.20 cartridge from
Ascii (the first serie imported by HSH, before they hacked the cartridge and
started producing it themselves...). Later the 2.31 kernel built into the MSX
turbo R FS-A1GT and I have never run into your problem.

I have always been using the official command2.com, coming with the DOS2.
Thus, first command2.com version 2.20 and later version 2.31. Too bad that
Fokkes patch to version 2.40 came a little bit late for me. I was already
decreasing my MSX activities by then. Though, I'm still convinced that it is
a very good improvement...

Kind regards,
