the same thing would then go for songs that are split up on the
release, but then someone assembles them into one.  an example:

On Argyle Park's "Misguided" [1], the song "Skin Shed" is split into
three tracks.  However, there is a NAT named "Skin Shed (extended)"
[2], which, judging from the time of the track, is just the three
parts of the song assembled.
