That's not entirely accurate.  I wouldn't object to volume and part
style normalization in the track and release titles.  But I also
don't particularly care for it, so I am fine with having "Vol. X" in
"non-normalized" titles.

My main concern is that I want to retain weird capitalization and 
punctuation in titles (usually japanese releases), because I consider
that to be part of the title.

Most of the other normalization rules don't bother me --- except for
the idea that our guidelines are difficult to learn for new users just
because we have a lot of them.  So keeping things simple for the 
non-normalized titles makes musicbrainz more accessible for new users.
