I imagine the question there is "how are we supposed to know whether the
composer actually called his sonata "Named Sonata" or not, for stuff where
it's less studied and clear than Beethoven?" - which isn't too bad a
question either.

In any case, as long as when a non-newbie, not-erudite user wants to use
whatever the release he's editing says to create the appropriate works he
won't get voted down by someone saying THIS IS A NICKNAME, IDIOT (or the
same but politely, I don't care, this should be preferred but not enforced
like the recording artist thing IMO) I'm fine with it. So, vote No if
someone is making an already-corrected work worse, but don't vote no if
someone's just creating a new work from the release and relating it to the
recordings - and that should apply to pretty much all of the guideline for
me.
