Okay thanks for the update Vincent. It looks like the right place to do
this may be in format_line() just below the "skip zero-width character"
section.
I'm attaching a quickly done, untested patch. :-) If you want to give it
a try, please let me know how it works. Otherwise I'll try to test it
more thoroughly this week.
