  $ LANG=de_DE
  $ export LANG
  $ mutt -F /dev/null -f /dev/null

mutt gives me this mini-help now:
q:Ende  d:Lösch.  u:Behalten  s:Speichern  m:Senden  r:Antw.  g:Antw.alle  ?:Hil
