That's what I figured.  So it's probably between the keyboard and the chair.  :)

I think "natively" is the answer?  I'm browsing my NFS filesystem and
selecting a .ogg, .mp3, or .flac file with identical results.  I
should also note that if I press the "stop" key on the remote while
the display appears to be playing a file, the display appears to stop
playing.  However, when I select another file to play, the display
locks up and only responds to the on/off button.

Some other information: my MVP is an H3.  I've been using a nightly
build (dongle.bin.mvpmc-20070325), but I also tried the
dongle.bin.mvpmc-0.3.3 that I have with the same result.  I don't have
slimserver installed, so I assumed there was no configuration related
to mclient that I needed to do, right (at least, in order to play a
single file)?
