  Yes, auto detection would be best or maybe pressing a different button or
maybe a menu item after pressing the menu button while selecting the file in the
filesystem.  Actually, that would be good.  User chooses how to play. Cool.

None in particular.  I tried your idea or renaming mpg files to avi extension
that that worked great.  I just changed the extension from .mpg to .mpg.avi.
