Alright, I just recieved my mediaMVP H3 device. Got it to boot the mvpmc firware and config file. I threw together a quick mythTV system (mythbuntu). And now I have a few questions for you all.
1. Live-TV & watching recordings don't work. I had an old TV tuner card around, an ATI Wonder VE. I am guessing this isn't working on my mediaMVP since the video/audio are being streamed in format other than mpeg2/mp2. Just looking for confirmation here. If this is true, I should just got get a Hauppauge PVR-250 or PVR-350, right ? All I was doing was trying to test what I had before making more investments. 2. The mythTV frontend piece, that doesn't support the 'Watch video' piece of myth does it ? I see that it can play recordings, but what about the DVDs I rip to MPEG files ? Only way I see how to do this is via the filesystem module. If the filesystem module is my only way to watch videos, is there a way to have it start somewhere other than root ? i.e. chroot at /usr/video, or have the buttons hotkeys to modules or chrooted FS ? 3. I have a few TV series on DVD. I ripped those to mpeg files and the created a PlayAll.m3u referencing the mpegs. But when I do select PlayAll.m3u.. I get a playlist & a very small video screen. Anyway to toggle the video to full screen ? Kinda the same issue, when I play a video and then hit the back button to browes around the FS. The video is playing in the background, anyway to toggle that back to the foreground, other than navigate to the video file and select it again ? 4. Thank you for a very nice piece of software. I look forward to learning more and maybe being able to contribute. ~Steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
