I am basically ripping my DVDs and dropping the bitrate to conserve on space. During this I re encode the audio to mp3 format. I think i was trying mp2 at first.. not sure why i changed to mp3. Anyway here is one one the command lines I am using: mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=mpeg2:tsaf -vf scale=720:480,pp=fd,harddup -srate 48000 -af volume=20,lavcresample=48000 -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=9800:vbitrate=1500:keyint=18:vstrict=0:acodec=mp3:abitrate=96:aspect=4/3:format=YV12 -ofps 30000/1001 -o 1-Columbo.mpg dvd://2 That is a modified something I found on the interent. Had issues ripping a Stargate1 dvd since it was interlaced, with the example above I dropped the bitrate alot since it is a Columbo episode.. TV from the 70s... doesn't need a high bitrate to me. ~Steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
