Mark,
     The European mvp outputs RGB via the SCART lead when composite is 
selects.
     I think it outputs composite at the same time via other SCART pins but 
that is normal for SCART connections.
     You need to make sure that you have a fully RGB populated SCART lead 
(some cheap commercial ones are not but I think the one that comes as 
standard with the mvp is OK)
     The TV should then work it out for itself and display the best 
available (RGB) and ignore the composite on the other pins.   Composite 
should only be used if the TV is not capable of understanding the RGB 
signals.

     I have four mvps and they all do RGB this way.   The only problem I 
have was with Panasonic Plasma which gets confused by the "Sync on Green" 
RGB output from the mvp.    It still worked but the display was very green. 
There is a hardware mod for this available but you need the soldering iron!
