Thanks Simon, In that case I would imagine that it probably is
displaying the RGB signal.

The only thing that's not quite perfect now is that neither of my 16:9
TVs respond to the WSS aspect ratio data. I suspect this is because
they are expecting the appropriate voltage on Scart pin 8 and that
it's ignoring the embedded WSS data (PAL line 23) - assuming the
latter works correctly for others. Consequently setting the TV to auto
sizing mode means that it always displays 4:3 (which is wrong most of
the time), meaning that I have to manually set the aspect ratio
manually.

Do you know if the MVP hardware is capable of signalling through an
appropriate voltage on pin 8 (i.e. switched off, 16:9 or 4:3)?
