Yup, you gotta check to see if your router has the DNS
set right... First off, do a ifconfig and see what
stuff it throws up for eth0 (or whatever) ... check
your WAN IP as well as the DNS... Do you use DHCP, by
any chance???
BUT, if I remember right, you said that some other
browser was working fine, and it was only firefox that
wasn't working, right??? If thats the case, this
problem cannot be traced back to a router
misconfiguration, atleast I don't think so. It will
have to do with your firefox/GAIM itself. Are you sure
your permissions for firefox and GAIM are set right?
Are you logging in as root, and did you install them
as root??? I really am not sure if permissions matter
here, but it COULD be that without write/execute
permissions, firefox and GAIM simply cannot access the
modem ... ??? Might be completely off the mark, but
doesn't hurt to try a 'su' before running firefox...
