Did you do a 'make clean' in the between ?

Note that if the compile failed or you didn't do 'make clean' mysqlbug
is not generated with your new command line.

Have you applied the patches for Solaris 2.8 ?
We have all the suggested patches on our Solaris 2.8 machine and we
don't have the above problem!

BAUMEISTER>   "mysqladmin status" or "mysqladmin processlist" or "mysqladmin ping"

Can you try if our Solaris 2.7 binary works for you?
(This should work on Solaris 2.8 without any problems!)
