Hi Steve, You haven't got a firewall running have you? Is the MS Internet Connection firewall switched on? Sounds like some sort of firewall issue though. Generally you won't get a response from the server if it is protected.
Just a thought, I'm more of a unix bod but have seen this on my own PC.
