The real reason you need to add localhost is the interaction between host and user in the mysql privilege system, and the defaults. On http://www.mysql.com/doc/A/c/Access_denied.html I found it in the paragraph that starts "If you can't figure out". The page which discusses how things work is http://www.mysql.com/doc/C/o/Connection_access.html It's probably a good idea to remove the entry for ''@'localhost'. //C -- Carl Troein - Círdan / Istari-PixelMagic - UIN 16353280 [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://pixelmagic.dyndns.org/~cirdan/ Amiga user since '89, and damned proud of it too. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
