Hi Rich, How did the exam go ? I did the core exam today (passed;-).
I found that the exam is hard (but fair) for beginners. I can only suggest for anybody thinking about taking the exam to have a look at some of the below topics: LEFT and RIGHT JOIN Converting nested queries /subselects Case sensitivity converting column types (f.e BIG INT to INT) Client server model general restrictions (SW/HW) GROUP BY/ORDER BY/HAVING You should be able to convert between LEFT and RIGHT JOINS. Bear in mind that this list is anything than complete; Make sure you 'know' the stuff in your sleep. During the exam you will not have a lot of time to make guess work (70 questions in 90 minutes). Its a lot to read, a lot to think and only a bit to click ;-). Make sure you put the crosses at the right places ;-) My summary: Nice, but not easy skill test. The best thing is also when you can have an AHA effect during the test through the way the questions are asked.
