I am able to log into mysql as this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# mysql -u root -p
Enter password:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 5 to server version: 4.0.20-standard

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer.

mysql>


I tried this and get a 0 affect below..

mysql> GRANT SELECT,INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE,INDEX, ALTER,CREATE,DROP,REFERENCES ON bugs.* 
TO [EMAIL PROTECTED] IDENTIFIED BY 'marvin';
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)

Does the username and password in localconfig get you into the DB
using the MySQL client?
