Yep, Jess been doing this for years. I bet i;m about 75% also.

I call it the soft gel manicure, didn't want to call it soak off because I file, didn't want to call them gel nails, because of traditional gels.

I use the Mani Q gel, then use gel polish on top of this. I have client that can go a month also. Just file off and re-apply. Most ac clients have switched to this. And soooooooooooooooooooo easy on my hands. LOVE IT.

The only clients that I have left with ac, are those that I need to build a nail because they grow ka ka!!!!!!lolo. but they love the gel polish.

And Becky, the Charisma has been a HUGE success. Now my clients can pick their favorite nail polish color and I can make a gel polish for them. LOVE IT.

These gels have changed our industry. did I say LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! And I have all kinds of brands. just love them. But love the idea of mixing my own at a decent price. diana from indiana

Quoting Jess in WA <luvna...@gmail.com>:

After doing last years taxes I discovered that gel manicures- the way
I do it- is now 75% of my business. I never soak off, as many techs
don't. I keep a very thin layer of Akzentz Natural gel as the base
coat - it balances with the flexibility of the colors and gives the
strength of an enhancement without needing an arch (it goes against
what we normally think is required but it really does work
beautifully). If a customer wants extensions, I obviously use a bit
more gel and a slight arch- but once their natural nails are to the
desired length, the thin layer of hard gel is all that's required to
give people 4 weeks of strength with their color on top. I call it the
30 day manicure and charge $55 for what takes 30-50 minutes. My
clients are busy and don't have time to come in more than every 3-4
weeks so they absolutely love the 30 day manicure. I've had a client
leave to Europe for the summer and her nails lasted 7 weeks.

I only do a traditional base coat, 2 coats of color and top coat gel
manicure if a client is planning to soak them off at home it they are
only coming temporarily.

Anyway if you haven't tried this method and you have clients who want
more strength or their natural nails always protected, it's a fabulous
trick :)

How do handle a situation of clients hearing from other people that the new gel polishes help strengthen the natural nails? I've heard people taking off their acrylic and going to gel polish but I'm afraid they will expect the gel polish to hold up like traditional gel or acrylics.

I thought gel polish is more like polish than any enhancement.
