Yes, that may be an important issue.

Please also note that the LGPL is rather difficult to understand in
the context of late binding languages like Java (and I assume the
whole .NET platform).  And that the FSF's answers to "can I distribute
a Java software that compiles against an LGPLed library under a BSDish
license" has been neither yes nor no.

The ASF policy for Java has thus become that no code hosted in an
Apache repository may depend on GPLed or LGPLed code at all.  This may
be a bit extreme but certainly is on the save side.
