I think that people are generally running it on linux, and probably some on solaris. One could argue that Renaud is French, and therefore mandrake is the way to go, but really, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Running it on what you know is probably the best way to go.

that having been said, I've run it on redhat and mandrake with no issues. FreeBSD has it in their ports collection. Debian has it in their apt tree. I'm certain that suse would pose no problems (similar to redhat/mandrake in many ways).
