Good luck to you guys - I agree that the Nessus engine doesn't appear to
have gained much by being Open Source these years (unlike something like
snort - where I see addons appearing all the time), so I don't see any
difficulty with it becoming closed-source-but-free-to-use.

As long as the NASL interface is open and useful (so I can write my
own/fix others), I don't see this changing how I use it.

As far as a new OS alternative - good luck! Nessus actually does quite a
bit under the hood - it'd be hard to replace.
