Thanks for all the excellent comments on NM security, or lack thereof!

To clarify my particular application, we are having users dial in to a RAS
server, and go through an NT challenge/response logon before getting access
to the LAN and the ILS. Few people get physical access to the LAN, thus
avoiding many of the 'packet analyser' scenarios. We could also use Point to
Point Tunnelling Protocol (PPTP) over the Internet with appropriate
encryption.

I have never used third party encryption on a LAN though. Someone mentioned
IPSec - is this a product or a broad term for a technology? Has anyone
successfully used a software/hardware encryption solution?

The obvious answer is for MS to include encryption for a/v and not just
data. Do any of the other conferencing solutions include encryption as
standard?
