A hub connects several devices (pc's, printers, servers, etc) on one local network.  They all talk the same language (ie ethernet, fast ethernet, token-ring, etc).  All devices belong to the same assigned network number/name/

A switch does basically the same thing as a hub but is much smarter than a basic hub in that it can provide faster throughput and many can autoswitch between 10 Mbs devices and 100Mbs devices on a local network.

A router connects and controls packets between distinct networks.  They can be distinct in network protocol (ie one could be ethernet, one can be token-ring, etc).  They could be distinct in assigned network number/name.  (ie Corporate network connecting to a company branch network)

This question has nothing to do specifically with NetMeeting.
Can someone briefly explain to me the difference between a router, switch and a hub ?
