Hello Larry
The hub is to connect your work stations to a Local Areea Network (LAN), in a same building. The switch is when your LAN is too big, yo segment it in smaller sections to get a better speed. The router is to inter connect two LANs that are separated by distance. The router in a sense has a similar effect like a switch, but if you are in the same building is anti-economic to segment your LAN with routers. I hope I have been helpfull with this short explanation Pedro Larry Guzik wrote: This question has nothing to do specifically with NetMeeting. Can someone briefly explain to me the difference between a router, switch and a hub ? |
