Every time I go online with my ISP Earthlink.net: I get new IP addressing
and IPX net node address readings.

I've tried to invite people onto my desktop projects by posting my current
IP address and/or my current IPX address into my NetMeeting directory log
on, location or comments field. What happened after I did that, was that I
got disconnected -- several times. Eventually I quit trying to post
invitations that way.

Now when I log onto my current ils server I usually just post what I'm
working on that may be of interest to the NetMeeting community; and I've
begun posting clock-ins with my location and ETD's (estimated time of
departure).

I have no way now of know what happens to my directory listing when I exit
to active desktop; though I am interested.

The reason I'm writing back to you is because I'm wondering how to go about
hooking up with a ULS (user locator service) rather than fleeting evasively
through ILS (Internet locator server) temporary addressing. Fleeting
evasively -- as if I might not want to be found there again -- the logic
there is eroding its way out of my procedures library.

I want to be able to let certain people have access to what I've put up on
my task bar to share with them. Somewhere between my MO, ethics observed,
and ethics preferred -- being open to the help I need seems important. At
this point my system has been freshly reinstalled, I have no private or
personal data up an running that needs secrecy, though it may be of value...
I hope that whoever takes the time to consider my situation may find the
opportunity for mutually beneficial exchange(s).

I guess I've kind of deviated from my intended query reply; in brief: Have
you figured out how to get a ULS listing so that you have one consistent IP
address that people can use to call you up? I want to find a ULS that I can
trust, as I sense you too also do.

I have a MSN Messenger Service log on now that I got because I'd read about
being able to access SIGs (special interest group), as well as use MSN
MsgSvc as a NetMeeting -- and I'm not sure how accurately I'm recalling its
capability -- stationary IP call tower ??? Nothing I've read yet on the MSN
MsgSvc documentation has been clear enough about using or accessing those
capabilities advantageously.

I've written down scads of information, strewn throughout a few spiral
binders -- I really need to spend some time transferring the reference
information I've gathered into one readily accessible place. I'd like to
get my Personal Web Server to allow me to create a notebook like that with
active links. This just wing'n it on my own is the shits.

I've never seen the download message that you mentioned here; then again,
I've never gotten very far into the trying to find someone arena -- how
would I know who to find? Maybe some of the people who've posted to
