That's a bit of an over-generalisation. Most apps on the OpenSolaris desktop *do* use it. (Even Mozilla used to, although we seem to have decided not to carry that patch across into Firefox.) So perhaps you ought to clarify exactly what class of applications you're interested in solving the problem for...?
