Sun's browser team in Beijing would have to answer that... but I'd guess that desktop-specific patches like that one (which wouldn't even work if you were running KDE, let alone a different OS) would be considered a bit kludgey and undesirable, generally. I guess it ought to be possible for us to write a Firefox plugin that did the same thing, though... don't know if that's ever been considered.
